Will the Cavaliers make the next cut for Elliott?

East Meadow, N.Y., offensive tackle/offensive guard John Elliott (6-foot-4, 288 pounds, 5.2 seconds) is one of the top 250 players in the nation for 2007. Elliott, who holds more than 20 scholarship offers, narrowed his list of favorites to nine schools last month. The Empire State lineman visited Chapel Hill over the weekend and is in the process of narrowing his list even further. Will the Cavaliers make the next cut?

"Virginia is a school I remain very high on. I have a great relationship with the coaches there. I receive text messages from Al Groh, Dave Borbely and John Garrett all the time," said Elliott.

Elliott listed the nine schools still in contention for his services.

"The nine schools are Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Rutgers, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina and Michigan."
