Who is Kwamaine Battle?
During the flurry of commitments over the last couple of weeks, a relative unknown named Kwamaine Battle received an offer from Virginia Tech out of camp and committed. We caught up with his coach to find out, who is he and what are the Hokies getting?
"Virginia Tech is getting a great kid and player," said Bailey, N.C., Southern Nash head coach Brian Foster. "He only played around 4 1/2 games as a junior because he tore his TCL and MCL, but he's recovered and impressed the coaches at camp. Coach Wiles was really high on him based on film and said if he looked good at camp he'd get an offer."
And Battle, a 6-foot-1, 260-pounder, committed right away.
"He was supposed to go to NC State the following week, but he didn't need to," Foster said. "He really liked Virginia Tech. He's a country kid and liked the location of the school and the campus. He liked the coaches too and felt comfortable enough to commit."
