Will 5-star Davis be at Florida's camp?
When the news broke on Tuesday that Seffner, Fla., Armwood five-star defensive tackle Torrey Davis committed to Florida State it came as a shock to many who had the Gators out in front. Then over the past two days, a couple of newspaper reports quoted Hawks head coach Sean Callahan saying that his star wasn't committed but heavily leaning to the Seminoles.
GatorBait.net spoke with him concerning his recruiting status.
Although he didn't want to call himself a commitment because his coach prefers he wait until a little while longer, from the sounds of it, Davis has made up his mind.
"What it is, is that Florida State is on top right now ahead of everybody," said Davis. "We're going to commit soon, that's what it was. We didn't really commit, we set a date to commit."
Regardless of when the official word finally comes out, it sounds as though the Seminoles are sitting pretty.
"It's about ninety-five percent Florida State," said the 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman, who then added that two other programs are still in the mix. "Clemson and Florida."
