Workout Insider: Players brave the heat

With the heat index well over 100 degrees, the Seminole football team completed possibly the hardest workout of the summer on Thursday. All in all, 80 or so players went through work capacity circuit training drills under the hot Florida sunshine when there was little or no breeze.


"It was extremely hot out there," offensive lineman Shannon Boatman said. "I think somebody said it was 99 degrees. With my body weight it felt like 110. It was a struggle today but we fought through it so that's a good sign."


Although several players looked exhausted and ran for the shade at the end of the day, everybody got through all the drills and completed the grueling workout. That's a good sign with preseason practices starting up in less than three weeks.
