Ashabranner takes visit to Vanderbilt
In mid May, the Vanderbilt football program picked up their second verbal commitment for the 2007 class when Beaumont, Texas defensive tackle Rob Ashabranner gave his pledge to the coaches.
The 6-foot-2, 260 pound All-State product from Cathedral Christian School gave the Commodores a verbal without even taking a visit to the campus.
Last Sunday, however, Ashabranner and his family were able to travel to Nashville for a short stay in the Music City as part of a two day visit to the SEC school.
"Well we got there and the first night just got settled in and checked out Nashville," Ashabranner told VandySports.com. "But then on Monday morning, I called Coach Carter and he said to meet him at the Athletics Building at 11 that morning. So me,and my dad went over there and he was waiting for us outside."
"First off he took us upstairs and introduced me to all of the coachs and the staff. Then he walked me back downstairs and gave me a tour of the weight room, locker room, players training table and then the players meeting rooms. They are still getting rebuilt though and are looking great."
