Palmer makes up his mind
Running back Daniel Palmer apparently didn't want to wait until the season got started to pull the trigger and pick a school. Monday morning he got things done and decided to go ahead and make an early commitment.
The 5-foot-9, 189-pounder has received an early scholarship offer from UTEP, but was getting a lot of interest from schools like Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. Apparently, he didn't feel like waiting around for things to happen and took action of his own.
"I decided I'd be committing to UTEP and I did it this morning," Palmer said. "I wanted to get it done so I could chill out before the season. Whatever comes after, I guess will come. I'm still looking around a little bit, but I'm committed right now."
Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Texas State are three teams that he's still watching. Texas A&M looked like they were going to offer, according to Palmer, but to play cornerback.
"I didn't want to play corner," he said. "So, I'm not really considering them."
