Super Showcase: Day Two
Tuesday at the Super Showcase is an easy day. Most teams only play one game, and have a chance to rest up for the tournament which is about to start. So far the story of the tournament has been the teams from Ohio. Between All Ohio Red, Queen City Prophets, and Cincinnati AAU, the teams from the Buckeye state have yet to lose a game.
One Ohio born player who is not playing for an Ohio team this week is Dante Jackson. Jackson is playing with the Kentucky Hoop Stars, and carrying them to win after win. Yesterday morning Jackson and his teammates were facing Team Arkansas Tigers.
The Tigers like to employ a full court press and are very physical once the ball passes half court. The referees were calling the game tight and neither team had any chance to get a flow going on the offensive or defensive end.
For the game Jackson played well, but he didn't do anything that especially stood out. He was used both as the guy who dribbled the ball up to beat the press, and as the player who received a pass at half court to attack the rim. He finished the game with 13 points and also had numerous rebounds. Jackson continues to show that he is just a solid all around player. He has no special skill on the court, but he just finds a way to get the job done.
