Carr wants another look at Bama

As Alabama looks to fill its final few spots in the 2007 recruiting class, several big name wide receivers appear to be considering pledging their commitment to the Tide. One of those big names is Huntsville standout Quindarious Carr

Carr, 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, was considered a slight lean to Alabama until he took a recent visit to Auburn and came away impressed. The Tigers are now dead even with the Tide atop Carr's list of favorites.

"I really enjoyed my Auburn visit," Carr said. "Just overall how open and honest the coaches were with me. I also loved the facilities. It was just a nice visit and the school had a nice feel to me, like Alabama did when I visited there the first time."

Carr is far from ready to end his recruitment, saying he still plans to take a second unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa before heading back to school.

"I want to go a little more in depth and take a closer look at Alabama. I'm basically just looking for honesty from the coaches as far as what role I will play with the team, what kind of education I'm going to get, and then I'll see how I feel."

The Tide coaching staff have made a strong push for Carr and appear to have done another solid job building strong relationships with a young prospect.

"My relationship with Coach Chris Ball is real close. He texts me just about every day and asks me how it's going. There's no doubt in my mind that Alabama's got a great staff and that's one of the reasons I like Alabama so much."

For now, Carr will spend the rest of the summer working out before his senior season begins.

"I'm going to continue working on running routes well this season and I want to improve my blocking and coverage skills."

Carr is rated a three-star and the No. 13 overall prospect in the state of Alabama by Rivals.com.

Carr ran a 4.56 40-yard dash and had a 31-inch vertical leap at the Athens NIKE camp. He had 26 receptions for 426 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior.
