Rising in-state defensive end visits Auburn
Mobile, Ala., Davidson defensive end Damario Ambrose has seen his stock skyrocket over the last couple of months. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder has recently added nearly 10 offers and could be closing in on several more big ones.
One of the schools showing a lot of interest but not yet offering is Auburn. Ambrose visited the SEC school a couple of weeks ago.
"The trip went pretty well," said Ambrose. "I mostly visited with the coaches and toured the campus. I've talked with Auburn a lot and been up there three or four times."
Ambrose spent a lot of time with Auburn defensive end coach Terry Price on his latest visit.
"We talked for about an hour," said Ambrose. "We talked about the depth chart and how many defensive ends they have. He said I already look bigger than Stanley McClover did coming in.
"He told me how I stand as far as an offer. I haven't been playing that much since I had shoulder surgery and he mainly wants to see me in-person in a game."
