Nevada sleeper close to first offer

There is another sleeper from desert oasis known as Las Vegas. This player may be flying a little under the due to a transfer. Keep an eye on linebacker/tight end Korey Toomer (6-3, 215, 4.6).


Toomer will play this fall at Las Vegas (Nev.) Shadow Ridge after earning all-division honorable mention honors as a junior.


Toomer first started to garner notice with an excellent NIKE Camp showing this past spring.


"Korey is definitely a D-I prospect," Shadow Ridge coach John Johnson said. "He attracted a lot of attention last spring as colleges saw him from a distance while watching our spring practices."


"ASU, Oregon State, Utah State, Nevada and UNLV are looking at him," Johnson said. "Nevada is close to making an early offer. Coach Ken Wilson (assistant head coach/linebackers coach) told me he doesn't want Korey to keep blowing things up because he will attract too much attention."
