McCray open for business
Warchant.com reported months ago that D'Angelo McCray was wavering in his verbal commitment to Florida. So it wasn't a surprise when the four-star defensive lineman told Rivals.com last week to remove him as a Gator commitment in the recruiting database. Now that he is officially decommitted, the Rivals100 member is opening his recruitment to a number of schools. The Gators are not out of the mix by any means, but South Carolina, Florida State, Illinois, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech are now all even.
"I'm decommitted," said McCray. "I feel good about it. I'm going to take all five visits and sit back and relax."
McCray will visit Florida State officially on November 24th for the FSU-Florida game. It'll be his first trip to a game at Doak Campbell Stadium, but not his first trip to Tallahassee.
"I talk to Coach (Odell) Haggins every other day," said McCray. "He tells me that he can help me and how I can get off my blocks better."
One of the key things for the Andrew Jackson standout is to know a familiar face or two wherever he goes. At FSU, those faces are Jacksonville natives Tony Carter and Rod Owens.
