DT Tribbey next in line to be a Hokie?

Virginia Tech has had success in Richmond, Va., Varina for years and one of a handful of players they are targeting this season is defensive tackle Bud Tribbey. The 6-foot-0, 280-pounder is closing in on a decision in the next week, but he has one more visit to take.

"I'd say I'm down to Virginia Tech and Syracuse. I'm planning to visit Syracuse this weekend for an unofficial visit," he said. "I really want to see Syracuse's facilities because they keep talking to me about how they are some of the best in the country and I'm interested to see what they have. I also want to get to know the coaches better."

What does Tribbey like about the Orange?

"I really like Syracuse's coaches from what I know," he said. "They are down-to-earth guys that I can talk to about everything. I talked to the defensive line coach White recently for 30 minutes and half the time we didn't even talk about football. I liked that a lot. The other thing I like is the tradition they have with great players including Dwight Freeney, Jim Brown and more."
