Chambers wavers, then reaffirms pledge
While getting early commitments is great, there is also a down side. While the prospects get it over with, there is also a long time in between that decision and signing day, and there is a lot of time to reconsider. Coffeeville athlete Lee Chambers fits into that mold after an early commitment to Mississippi State, and has since had that time to think. Where do things stand now?
"I was still solid with it, because I know Mississippi State is the place for me, but me and my mom was talking, and she was talking that maybe I did it too fast and I didn't' need to rush into like that," he began. "Being that we are young this year because we lost 15 seniors, I just wanted to focus on my tam and my class work.
"I just wanted to be the leader that I was supposed to be and with all the rest of the stuff on my mind, I couldn't really do what I wanted to, so I kind of rushed into my decision, but talking to coach Croom like three times a week and going to visit Mississippi State, I still feel like Mississippi State is the place for me. I am solid with my commitment."
