Plenty of standouts on first night of Fall Camp
Fall Camp started off with a bang Thursday night. Excitement was in the air with more than a hundred fans in attendance and the Arizona Football players showed off their talents and gave spectators something to cheer about. Here are some things of note that happened on Thursday night during the Fall Camp opener.
Being that it is the first day of camp, there are many position battles in progress. Probably the most intriguing battle was for the wide receiver position. With so many receivers to choose from, Willie Tuitama shared the wealth and spread his passes around to whoever was open.
Mike Thomas had numerous catches in the middle of the field. If these catches had been made in the game, Thomas would have taken many of them the distance.
Thomas seemed proud of one catch in particular. After making a grab and beating the safeties to the open field, Thomas ran directly up to the defensive subs and playfully let them hear about it.
As far as freshmen go, the most impressive receiver was Terrell Turner. Turner's shining moment on the night came when he leapt to catch a 30 yard pass over the middle from Tuitama which closed out the scrimmage.
