Mangino pleased after two practices

The Jayhawks are coming off a bowl victory and there is a lot of energy surrounding the team and the upcoming season. Just after two practices Kansas head coach Mark Mangino likes what he sees.

"That was practice two and I'm very pleased with the first two practices," Mangino said. "I like the way where out veteran guys have picked up where they left off in the spring. There has been a lot of enthusiasm. I like the younger kids and they have been eager to please. Practices have been a very good tempo and there has been a lot of learning taking place."

One of the spotlights all along since the end of last season has been on Kerry Meier. The redshirt freshman has already cemented himself as the team's number one quarterback. Mangino has been pleased with his beginning of practice.
