Progress being made

Progress is being made though there were some rough spots during yesterday's practice by the offense the defense seems to be getting better and better with every practice. As always Coach Karl Dorrell met with the media after practice the following is the result.

Dorrell: "It was a good practice. I added some really tough scenarios for the offense to get through. One thing we haven't been very good at is three and long.

"We are going to try to emphasize a lot of that in this camp and we did that toward the end of practice today and still weren't very good at third and long, so that's something we know we have to improve on.

"We hadn't been very good on three and long for the last three years, so for us to be a good offense we have to be able to perform and have some execution in that area. So that's what we're going to emphasize a lot.

"I thought our defense did a great job when guys did make catches they got him down right away and get your butts off the field. That's a sign of a good defense that is rallying to the football, tackling and getting themselves off the field and that's an area where we haven't been good on in the past is third and long on defense so it's good to see one side of the ball improving.

"Offensively we still have a lot more work to go and we are going to have many more sessions in camp to get ourselves ready in third and long.
