Recruiting landscape: Wide Receivers

With the college and high school seasons quickly approaching, what better time to take a closer look at the recruiting landscape. Over the next couple of weeks, ScarletNation.com will take a position by position look at the remaining targets for Rutgers and where they currently stand with each. First up is the wide receiver position, which wouldn't be deemed a priority for the program right now, but is still full of interesting prospects.

Might as well start with the best player on the radar, and that is Toney Clemons of New Kensington in Pennsylvania. The four-star player is ranked as the #20 receiver in the country and has a number of impressive offers to show for it, including Michigan, Tennessee, West Virginia, Purdue, Pittsburgh, and Colorado. Surprising to some, Rutgers has hung in there so far with the big guns, but this will still be a tough one to win. The key for Rutgers is to get Clemons on campus, either for an unofficial or official visit, as up to this point he hasn't had a chance to visit. Most seem to believe that Pitt is the favorite here, but he seems to be taking his time with his recruitment up to this point.
