Earl Mitchell just wants to help

They say the offensive line is the most underappreciated position on a football team but you can make an excellent case for fullback. While fullbacks may not get a lot of credit by fans and the media, they play quite a big role on the field.

Arizona has three fullbacks this year looking to compete for playing time - redshirt sophomore Brandon Lopez and true freshmen Brooks Reed and Earl Mitchell.

In the case of Mitchell, the newcomer was so impressive during fall camp that many feel he should be Arizona's starter in the 2006 season. Considering that Arizona's fullback responsibilities were carried out in 2005 by talented but departed senior Gilbert Harris, Mitchell has some big shoes to fill.
