Mayo Makes an Early Mark

One of the buzz guys for the last two years around the Tennessee program has been Jerod Mayo. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Mayo is as well put together as any linebacker John Chavis has coached. A year ago many thought that Mayo would have a breakout season, but a knee injury cut is season short. This year an ankle injury nearly prevented him from playing in the season opener.

But Mayo, who credits the Tennessee training staff, got on the field and earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors and is once again a buzz name.
