Iwebema excited about the start of Big Ten play

The start of Big Ten play is almost like the start of a new season. For the Hawkeyes it is the most important part of their season. Kenny Iwebema says that the level of play amps up to a different level once the conference slate gets underway. He talks about the start of conference play, the contributions of Mitch King on the defensive line, and much more.


Q: Starting the Big Ten slate this weekend is sort of like starting a new season.

IWEBEMA: Yeah, these are the one's that count. This is what we play for.

Q: Is this a dangerous game for you guys or are you focused on one at a time?

IWEBEMA: You have to play one game at a time. You can't look ahead to another opponent. A lot of people will tell you this or that about Ohio State, but right now we are focused on Illinois and that is what we are going to do.

Q: Does the intensity pick up in Big Ten play?

IWEBEMA: Honestly, I think so. It is like a whole different kind of game from the preseason games. These past games have been good one's, but it is a different in Big Ten play.
