Recruiting breakdown: The running backs
The Bulldogs knew they had big shoes to fill in the offensive backfield last year when the all-time leading rusher in school history, Jerious Norwood, graduated, but the task at hand this year will be just as big with stalwart Bryson Davis vacating the premises. While the new running backs have been a bright spot on the team this year, several injuries have shown the need to add depth to the running back slot. Who will fill the big holes next spring and fall?
While the future looked bright with one of the top running back classes in the country early on last year, that took a knock when Kenny Ashley and Courtney Jones didn't make it to campus. State took immediate action, however and brought in Arnil Stallworth - this week's starter - and got a transfer from Tulane in Christian Ducre They also got a medical redshirt for Derek Ambrose, so things appeared to pick up drastically.
