Special teams and defense key victory

The Bulldogs struggled through the first half of the season with its only win coming against UAB. Coach Croom and his staff made conscious effort of making sure the Bulldogs put the past in the past. Mississippi State got a fresh start to the second half of the season today with a win that was keyed by special teams and defense.


Derek Pegues opened up the scoring up for the Bulldogs with an interception on the first play of the game and took it 26 yards to the end zone. This was the second time of the season the Bulldogs opened the game with an interception on the first play of the game.
