Chiles: 'My heart is set at quarterback'

Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns raced out this summer and locked up just about every big-name prospect in the state, essentially closing up shop on their 2007 recruiting class at a time when most teams were still scrambling to get their first pledges of the year.

With 23 commitments already in the fold, things are fairly quiet on the Texas recruiting front in terms of visitors and potential prospects that are still on the radar. But the run of early pledges hasn't kept the rumor mill from churning out the stories. One of the biggest water-cooler issues for Longhorn fans is whether or not Texas will be able to hang on to all of its commitments over the next few months, particularly with so many other schools still trying to work their way into the mix for some of UT's top commits.

One name that's constantly thrown around as one to watch is that of quarterback commit John Chiles. The Mansfield Summit standout has never once given any indication t hat he was close to wavering on his pledge, but fans have nevertheless speculated on the possibility of the five-star prospect taking other visits.
