Defensive Dish: Missouri Tigers
The Missouri defense has taken a little bit of a beating in the last three weeks. After being ranked number one in the nation through four weeks, the Tigers have slipped to 18th. Colorado, Texas Tech and Texas A&M have each put up at least 393 total yards.
A big problem during that period has been the run defense. Through four games, Missouri was giving up just 43 yards a game on that ground. That number has more than doubled. Colorado and A&M were both able to exploit the Tigers on the ground.
"We'll just work very hard on it. We work every week on it and we'll work to get better," Gary Pinkel said. "You're going to wear down a little bit if you're on the field as long as we were [last week]. They did a good job on the clock and everything else for those reasons I said. That's something that we're going to have to do a better job of."
