Bruce Davis makes no excuses
Defensive end Bruce Davis met the media on Monday just two days after the Notre Dame game and he handled himself like a champion. He was about excuses or what ifs, he was about getting back out on the field and finishing this season strong. He's a very impressive young man and after this press conference you could understand why he's one of the team's leaders. Davis is a stand up young man.
"We have a chance to win five games and we're going to give it our best shot," Davis said. "We are going to go out there every Saturday and play 60 minutes of football. We are going to play as hard as we can and hopefully come out victorious.
"I know everybody on this team is anxious to get going this last part of the season and we feel we have a lot to prove so we are just going to take it one game at a time."
"You can't really blame the staff for anything. Because there were plays offensively and defensively that we should have made. I feel that they called a good game. The players just have to execute out there.
"We have a great coaching staff and I have total faith in our staff. They have put in so much work for us and do so much for us behind the scenes that it is crazy.
"I think the play calling as been fine. I sit here in front of you guys today and I'm taking the blame myself for the team because no matter what they called, some people could view it as the worst call in world, the bottom line is we're out there on the field.
"They just called what they think is good and we just had to go out there and execute.
"If people have that to say about our coaches that's fine. I would say to them you don't know that much about football."
