Everson: 'Georgia Tech is like family'

It was a gut feeling that Cedric Everson had ever since he first visited Atlanta in the spring. He considered schools from all over the country, but in his heart he knew he was going to end up at Georgia Tech. The four-star cornerback from Mumford High School in Detroit, Mich. finally made it official when he committed during the weekend of Oct. 28.

Everson was in town that weekend to see the Yellow Jacket defeat Miami and take his official visit.

"Our season is over," Everson said. "I flew out to Atlanta that Saturday morning. We got to Georgia Tech around 12:30 and first thing we went straight to the stadium and walked around. We went into the locker room for a minute and then had a little gameday preview with the coaches, what they expected to happen in the game today. After that, we went out of the tunnel and got a chance to go on the field and speak to the fans, the students in the stands. Then we went back into the locker room, said a prayer with the football team and then we walked out with the football team."
