4-star Jacobs has season high in loss

Four star Minnesota recruit Anthony Jacobs of Northfield saw his season end last night in the first round of the state tournament. Despite a solid defensive effort and 169 rushing yards from the 6-foot-2 255 pound Jacobs, Northfield could not convert on several chances late in the game and St. Thomas Academy moved on to the next round.

The Cadets had negative total yards in the first half, they gave up 169 yards rushing to Jacobs on 28 carries and they had several turnovers in this game. But in the end they prevailed 15-12 as Northfield missed on four scoring chances inside the red zone on their final four possessions. A pair of turnovers and a pair of missed field goal attempts was the doom of the Raiders in the end as the Cadet defense bent but did not break.

On three of the four final drives, Northfield fed Jacobs the football and he carried them across the field.
