Mangino not talking about a bowl game

No bowl talk

Mark Mangino was asked about the possibility of having to win two more games to be bowl eligible. But he isn't talking about the bowl situation period.

"I'm not discussing bowl games," Mangino said. "If you win that will all take care of itself."

Thoughts on Kansas State:

The Wildcats have been playing their best football of the season over the last few weeks and that includes the big win against Texas on Saturday night.

Mangino said he watched the game at home when Kansas State played the Longhorns. He admitted Kansas State is playing well.

"Ian Campbell has been impressive and Rob Jackson is talented," Mangino said of the Kansas State defensive ends. "Brandon Archer has been a mainstay on their defense. The offensive line is starting to jell and improved immensely. You add in Josh Freeman, some of the catches their receivers are making, and Leon Patton."

Texas deja vu?

It wasn't long ago the Jayhawks had Texas on the ropes. On Saturday night the Longhorns had another bad trip to the state of Kansas. Only this time they lost.

Mangino was asked if the game brought back any memories.

"We had an opportunity to beat Texas and let it slip," Mangino said.
