Weather prompts change in plans for AU

Auburn wrapped up Iron Bowl preparations with a 90-minute workout Thursday morning.

For the Tigers, who are trying to bounce back from a 37-15 loss to Georgia and face a motivated Alabama team on the road Saturday, the week of practice didn't go exactly as planned.

"Not as good a week of practice with the tempo, because of the distraction of weather," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville. It's been pretty rough.

"Rain's been affecting us. But it's been a good mental week of practice. Guys have been into it. Just like to have had a little it more continuity."

While AU was limited in what they accomplished on the practice fields, they did spend extra time in meetings this week.

"Well we've only been going out a little over an hour on the field, so we've doubled up the meeting time," said Tuberville. "This time of year, you really don't need that much practice time. You need more meeting time."

What the week's practices mean for Saturday's game is a mystery for this Jekyll and Hyde team. Auburn had great practices leading up to the Arkansas and Georgia games - both blowout home losses - while they struggled the week leading up to Florida before dominating the No. 2 team in the second half for AU's biggest win of the season.
