Off to an early start

Gilmer, Texas, quarterback G.J. Kinne has already announced that he will enroll at Baylor early and participate in spring practice. The East Texas signal caller will not be the only true freshman on hand for spring ball, Houston Madison cornerback Loyce Means plans to join him.

Means, an honor student at Madison, will graduate in December in hopes of getting a head start on his college career.

Last week Means saw his high school playing days end with a 34-7 loss to Houston Memorial in the first round of the playoffs.

His senior season did not go the way he pictured due to an ankle sprain suffered in a preseason scrimmage which only worsened as he continued to play on it. Against Pearland though it became to painful to ignore.
