Golden Flashes add an athlete

To be successful on the football field, Kent State head coach Doug Martin realizes the need to add team speed to his roster. He also prefers to recruit players from winning high school programs. He achieved both of those goals when he received a verbal commitment from Drew Astorino, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound speedster from Edinboro (Pa.) General McLane.

Astorino, a three-year starter, has led the Lancers to a 30-6 mark during his time as a starter. This season McLane is 10-2 and plays in the Class 3A Western finals.
