Brimfield excited about Davis hiring

Neeses (S.C.) defensive tackle William Brimfield was first noticed by North Carolina at its June summer camp, and from there, he has seen his recruitment explode into a multi-state border war.

With Brimfield anchoring both lines for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, the Trojans produced a 6-4 record in 2006.

"He was a big asset in the middle, as far as on defense," said Brimfield's head coach, Jermaine Derricott. "He occupied the middle, taking on a lot of double teams, and allowing our linebackers to run and make plays. From game one to the end of the season, the kid made a tremendous improvement. He was also a great offensive lineman; with his speed, he was reaching people to the outside; getting up field; going to the next level. He was a tremendous help on the line, and the game starts up front, so he was a tremendous addition to our team."
