Williams getting ready for Smyrna's biggest game
Vanderbilt offensive tackle commitment James Williams is getting ready for the biggest game of his career. The 6-foot-6, 300 pound co-captain is preparing to help lead his Smyrna (TN) Bulldogs squad to a Class 5A state championship when they take on defending champion, Ravenwood in the 2006 Blue Cross Bowl in Murfreesboro.
After posting a 8-2 record during the regular season, the Bulldogs have had an impressive run through the playoffs with wins over their neighborhood rival LaVergne, mid-state and region powerhouse Riverdale, and the previously undefeated Ooltewah to get to the final game.
Williams will likely take an official visit to Vanderbilt in January with many other members of the 2007 commitment class.
Williams committed to Vanderbilt over serious attention from Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Stanford, and Louisville.
