Medlock closing in on his great UCLA career

Another Bruin who will be playing his last game in the Rose Bowl as a Bruin is the newly crowned All-American place-kicker Justin Medlock. There is a very good chance that the fifth-year senior will play beyond UCLA as he has one of the most accurate and strong legs in college football.

If the Bruins end up playing the spoiler it could be because of special teams and maybe a Medlock will be the difference.

BruinBlitz.com was able to get a few
moments with Medlock after Tuesday's practice a day before he was named an All-American.

BruinBlitz: Justin, you are a fifth year senior with lots of ups and downs, mostly ups, can you give us a microcosm of your experience at UCLA as you are going into your last game as a Bruin in the Rose Bowl?

Medlock: "It has been a long road. Looking back on this I was excited to come here and I think it is everything I wished upon. I went through some ups and downs but I think it has just been a great ride.

"It is a great school and I will be following the school later on but you know sometimes things have to end."

BruinBlitz:Remember way back when in high school you were thinking about going to North Carolina, do you ever have regrets about not going to North Carolina?

Medlock: "I don't know maybe here and there but that is usually in basketball season. I'm still a die-hard UNC fan in basketball. I still keep track and I still get crazy about them, but I don't know looking at the football situation over there I'm glad I came here. It's better and my family is here.
