McCray down to three, Ole Miss in mix

Florida's four star defensive lineman DeAngelo McCray experienced a new surrounding this past weekend as he took an official visit to Ole Miss.

While the surroundings may have been new to the all-star defender, a couple of familiar faces made the trip a lot of fun.

"It was a pretty good trip," McCray said Sunday evening. "I got to spend a lot of time with two of my old teammates (Mike Hicks and Jamal Harvey) it was good to see them again. They really love it there; I can see why they do. It was a lot better than I expected."

McCray has an official visit set next weekend to Florida State and he will make his decision between Ole Miss, FSU and Illinois public on December 14 on ESPN.

"Ole Miss is right there in the mix," McCray said. "I like Illinois a lot, but this trip showed me some things. Coach Orgeron is a great defensive line coach and that's important."

McCray, a four star defensive tackle by, finished his senior season strong and is looking forward to deciding the next step in his life.

"It's been fun (the recruiting part)," McCray said. "I'm excited it's almost over and I will be deciding soon where I will play at the next level at."

A couple of things stood out at Ole Miss.

"I was really impressed with their facilities and their coaching staff," McCray said. "Everyone is so nice and they have some of the best facilities in the country."

McCray was also impressed with the Rebels academic support program.

"Every time Coach Orgeron calls me he asks me how I'm doing academically," McCray said in an earlier interview. "He stressed academics this weekend also and you can tell he and his staff really cares about you as a student not just a football player."
