Two from Varina in as many years
The Michigan coaching staff is hoping the talent pool at Varina High School in Richmond, Va., stays full for many years to come. After pulling then four-star running back Brandon Minor from the school in 2006, the Wolverines set themselves in good position to receive the verbal commitment of linebacker Marell Evans and create a pipeline to the talent rich school.
Heading into this weekend's official visit, the 6-3, 215-pound Evans hinted there was a good chance of a verbal commitment for the Wolverines coming. He hosted assistant coach Erik Campbell in his home Monday and nearly cinched his decision then, but wanted to wait until his official visit to Ann Arbor this weekend to be sure.
