Video: Haverkamp talks UGA commitment

One of the more unknown commitments on the Georgia commitment list is junior college offensive lineman Scott Haverkamp. The Bulldog Nation doesn't know much about him because he is from Butler C.C. in the state of Kansas. UGASports.com met up with this new Bulldog commitment Sunday after he verbally committed to Coach Richt.

Prospect: Scott Haverkamp

Junior College: Butler C.C. (El Dorado, Kansas)

Class: 2007

Position: Offensive Lineman

Vitals: 6-5, 300-pounds

Offers: Arizona State, Iowa State, Illinois, Troy, and others.

Favorites: Solid commitment to Georgia.

The Skinny: Haverkamp is a versatile lineman that could play tackle or guard in Athens. He started at Kansas before moving to Butler C.C. to improve on his game. He now feels he can compete at the highest level and looks forward to playing in the SEC and learning from UGA OL Coach Neil Callaway.

UGASports.com met with Haverkamp at the airport before his flight departed for the mid west. He talked with us about how his commitment took place, how he feels to be a Bulldog, why he chose Georgia, when he plans to move to Athens, and more.

If you were not able to watch that video interview right now, then here are some quotes from Haverkamp.

"I knew I was going to commit this weekend and I had my meeting with Coach Richt Sunday morning. He asked me where I was sitting with my decision and I just told him I was ready to be a Bulldog. He told me that was great news and welcome to the family."

"I am just relieved to get the decision out of the way and to know where I am going to be for the next two years."

"Athens is great. The stadium is huge. It is unbelievable. I can't wait to get in there for a game day."
