JUCO player attracts Lions' attention

The Penn State football team has held a solid trend of staying away from junior college football players during the course of Joe Paterno's tenure as head coach.

It's not that there have never been JUCO players, they have just come extremely few and far between. That trend appears to have taken a backseat in this year's recruiting effort for the Nittany Lions as two players, Ako Poti and Nerraw McCormick, both JUCO players, have recently garnered interest from the Lions' coaching staff.

This past weekend, McCormick, a 6-foot-5, 285 pound offensive lineman attending Nassau Community College in New York, took an official visit to check out the Penn State football program.
