Coach breaks down new Sooner commit realizes that there isn't a lot that is known about Tyler Stradford, the Sooners recent commitment from New Orleans O.P. Walker so associate editor Josh McCuistion caught up with Walker head coach Derek "Skip" Lamothe to talk to him about his 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver.

From his displacement after hurricane Katrina, to younger teammates and everything in between, Lamothe covers the bases for Sooner fans.

Josh McCuistion: First off, there have been some reports that Tyler is still going to take a few trips, what can you tell us about that?

Derek Lamothe: Miami had called last week but I don't think he'll make that trip, I think he may want to check out Southern Mississippi. Not so much because of changing his mind, but because they had been recruiting him for so long. He had a visit set up for the middle of January.

But I don't think Oklahoma has any reason to worry, he is one of those kids that once he makes his mind up, he is pretty set. He is not one of those kids that jump around and commit all over the place.
