Izbicki chomping at the bit

Chris Izbicki is generally regarded as UW's biggest commitment this season and he doesn't plan on staying idle until he begins his Husky career next year. Ranked as the number one recruit in the state of Washington and among the top 250 recruits nation-wide according to, Izbicki has the work ethic that every coach dreams of.

"I've been working out with my personal trainer, conditioning, and speed training so far this off season," Izbicki said. "Once I sign in February, I'm allowed to start running routes with [Jake] Locker and the other players so I will start doing that in a couple of months."

When I talked with the 6-foot-4, 240 pound TE from Lake Washington high school in Kirkland, Wash., he was out of breath from preparing for the All-American bowl in South Florida on January 4th.

"I just got done running routes with my brother so I'm a bit winded," explained Izbicki. I'm super, super excited to be playing in it [the All-American Bowl] though. I've been calling up everyone I know and telling them to watch the game. I can't wait."
