Haney looking elsewhere after Mason firing

It took very little time for the firing of Minnesota head coach Glen Mason to start having an effect on recruiting. Clark (N.J.) Johnson Regional defensive lineman Oliver Haney found out about the firing from defensive coordinator David Lockwood on Sunday night. It did not take Haney long to reevaluate his college decision.

Haney is the first high school player who decommitted from Minnesota as a result of the firing of Mason. It was his respect for Mason and the hometown connections the two had that made Haney want to be a Gopher in the first place.
