Stokes excited about Vanderbilt

In September, Memphis (Tenn.) four-star linebacker/defensive end prospect John Stokes made the decision to commit to the Commodores. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Memphis University School standout was recruited by a number of programs and had offers from many other schools in the Southeastern Conference as well as programs in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten, Big 12, and Pac 10.

Stokes, who secured his first offer from the Commodores in March, said that it was Vanderbilt's competitiveness, coaching staff and school that made his choice for him.

Now, after watching the Commodore season unfold, Stokes says he still feels solid about what Vanderbilt is doing and is just looking forward to being a part of the program.
