Evans learns from all-star experience

Virginia Tech running back commitment Darren Evans concluded his high school career on Saturday in the East Meets West All-American game. The 6-foot-0, 207-pounder only carried the ball nine times for 35 yards, but Evans felt he learned a lot from the entire experience.

"The whole experience was fun," he said. "Visiting Florida, practicing two-a-days and then playing in the game, there was a lot of competition and it was great.

"I think I played pretty well. There weren't a lot of chances for me to show what I can do, but as far as how I did on the carries I got it was decent."
