Cervino will announce at press conference

When we caught up with Chaz Cervino on Sunday evening, following his official visit to Colorado, he admitted that stressful days were ahead.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete from Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic was torn between Colorado and Syracuse.

After another in-home visit with both programs, has Cervino reached a decision?

"He has not yet reached a final decision," explained DePaul Catholic assistant coach Brian Murray. "He had an in-home visit with [tight ends] Coach Kent Riddle from Colorado last night and Syracuse was by the night before. But, like I said, he hasn't committed anywhere yet."

With no solid timetable in place, Cervino could decide later today or wait until signing day next Wednesday. Syracuse has extended a scholarship offer, while the Buffaloes want him to greyshirt.

"Syracuse is recruiting me as an athlete, Colorado is looking at me just for offense," Cervino explained last Sunday. "At Colorado, I could play wide receiver, slot, or running back. Syracuse and Colorado are also both looking at me for special teams as a kick and punt returner."

A first-team all-state and all-North Jersey selection as a senior, Cervino accounted for nearly 2,000 yards of offense and 24 total touchdowns in just eight games. He recorded 63 tackles on defense.

"Chaz is the best athlete that I have ever coached and I have coached and been around some good ones," Coach Murray previously told BuffStampede.com. "He has something about him. At the Elite College combine they clocked him in at 4.47 in the 40-yard dash and he has a 37-inch vertical."
