Class of 2007 brings depth, balance
Duke football coach Ted Roof welcomed his newest crop of Blue Devils Wednesday as his third full recruiting class signed National Letters of Intent.
The class of 21 incoming freshmen-22 counting 2006 signee Matt Pridemore who enrolled in January and will be a true freshman this fall-adds needed depth at several positions, and helps the Blue Devils take another step to forming a sturdy base at the foundation of the program.
"This is a good day for us," Roof said. "We're excited about our class and think it's a very solid group. It has balance, and by that I mean positionally. We want to get our numbers to a point where we [have balance across the depth chart]...We have 22 signees from 13 different states, and we added a couple of new ones to our map this year, Arkansas and Kansas."
