San Lorenzo standout Calvin inks with Cal

San Lorenzo (Calif.) wide receiver standout Mike Calvin had the big senior year we expected from him. He totaled 146 yards of total offense per game, and led the Rebels in receiving, scoring, and kicking. Calvin also added 55 tackles and 5 interceptions, and racked up numerous post-season honors.

"Oh man, this is such a great opportunity for me," Calvin said. "Signing with Cal is a great, great thing. It's not all about the NFL, and I know at Berkeley just having that degree is an absolute blessing."

Just one of Calvin's top honors was his No. 2 spot in the Contra Costa Times annual Bay Area prep football "Cream of the Crop" article - becoming the first San Lorenzo player to ever earn the distinction of being on the "COTC". Perhaps his most impressive stat was his yards per reception. Despite being the focal point of every San Lorenzo opponent, Calvin still posted over 20 yards per reception.
