Talent is rich at Holy Spirit

Two of South Jersey's top players also happen to be teammates.

Linebacker Marcus Witherspoon and running back William Washington of Holy Spirit in Absecon, N.J. are rated among the Top 20 juniors in the area by the G&W Recruiting Report.

Holy Spirit head coach Bill Walsh talked with BlueWhiteIllustrated.com on Thursday about his two highly talented prospects.

Witherspoon has the potential to be among the nation's elite linebackers in 2007.

"Marcus has exploded off the charts with recruiting," Walsh said. "He had a personal phone conference with Michigan coach Lloyd Carr yesterday and he offered him. He's gaining a lot of national attention."

Witherspoon has been snake bitten with injuries his first few seasons at Holy Spirit, but his determination and grit is what makes him such a valuable commodity.
