Johnson was sold on KU from beginning

Richard Johnson took an official visit to Kansas during the weekend of December 8. Shortly after the 6-foot-4, 255-pound strongside defensive end from Jefferson City (MO) High School returned home, he put an end to his recruitment by giving the nod to the Jayhawks. Since that time, not much has been written about Johnson, a three-star prospect. Jayhawk Slant recently caught up with the No. 16 ranked player in Missouri to talk about his signing day experience and the possibility of switching positions once he arrives in Lawrence.

It certainly didn't take long for Johnson, the No. 47 ranked strongside defensive end in the class of 2007, to make a final decision about his future. It's not uncommon for high school prospects to take anywhere from three-to-five official visits during the recruiting process.
