UT's first commit is in

Longhorn fans have been hanging around the Orangebloods.com message board on Sunday, anxiously awaiting word on which prospects would give Texas a commitment after the Horns' first junior day of the year.

The question that most have been asking isn't whether or not UT would get a commitment - that seemed to be a foregone conclusion. Instead, it was a case of wondering how many pledges Mack Brown and staff would secure, and which player would be the first confirmed commit of the 2008 class?

Texas Longhorn fans, welcome Mark Buchanan to the family.

The Austin High offensive lineman confirmed on Sunday afternoon that he'd picked up an offer from the Texas coaches, and he wasted no time in giving the Horns a commit, the first confirmed pledge of the year.
