Horns secure the state's top WR prospect

In the early months of the 2008 recruiting season, Allen wide receiver Dan Buckner has become one of the most sought after prospects at his position in the entire nation. Heading into the weekend, the tall, rangy wideout has picked up enough offers to fill a shoebox, including invites from schools such as Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Nebraska to name but a few.

On Sunday afternoon, during a visit to Austin for a Longhorn junior day, Buckner picked up one more invitation, and it was the one he'd been waiting for all along. Buckner sat down with Mack Brown after the junior day was over, and he gave Texas a big commitment before leaving Brown's office.
